Eye Bank News
Florida Lions Eye Bank is holding a Board of Directors Meeting and Lecture on October 27, 2010 at 6:00 pm.  The
Lecture on cataract surgery by Dr. George Corrent,  MD will begin at 7:00 pm.  The meeting is at Bascom Palmer, located on 9th Street, Naples (US 41).

Our Well Wishes
* We want to extend our condolences to the family of Lion Gary Smith in his passing. 
* Continue your prayers for Lion Evelyn Barger as she seeks medical treatment from her doctors up north.
* Please keep Lion Bob Marker in your thoughts and prayers.  He currently is in NCH.

And the Awards go to:
Lion Dolores Sainz dela Pena and Ruth Crowe were awarded the Melvin Jones Award in June.
Also Leo Olga Sanchez received the Make a Difference Award for over 100 hours of service to the community.
We congratulate you all for a job well done.

NEW MEMBERSHIP
We want to welcome our newest Lion: Patricia (Trish) Holbert, sponsored by Lion Joe Sakmar, into our Bonita Springs Lions Club. Please extend to her a BIG Lion Roar!

BACK PACK OUTREACH
1500 people attended this event at Riverside Park. There were 42 people who took advantage of our eye screening; several of these made appointments for future care, including several children. We want to thank those who gave their time for this event.  We also want to recognize Lion Al Greenwood and his helpers for serving over 1300 hot dogs on this hot, humid day.

MEETINGS
Please join us for our next Board Meeting on Oct. 11th. Everyone is welcome.
We have a regular dinner meeting on Sept. 20th and Oct. 4th.
